Provider Alerts

Track material changes to specific CMS Provider facilities and receive automated alerts when important data shifts.

Overview

The Provider Alerts feature allows you to monitor an active list of CMS Certification Numbers (CCNs). When structural or payment-related changes are detected for those CCNs during our daily dataset updates—such as shifts in Wage Index, Capital Cost-to-Charge Ratios, or newly added records—the system generates an alert so you can quickly identify the impact on your payment workflows.

All tracking and alerts are scoped to your Organization and shared securely with your team members.

Accessing Provider Alerts

Navigate to Dashboard → Provider Alerts in the primary sidebar. The sidebar will also display a blue badge indicating how many new, unseen alerts require your attention.

Managing Tracked Providers

You can explicitly control which facilities your organization tracks.

  1. Click the Manage Tracked Providers button in the top right of the Provider Alerts page.
  2. In the modal, you can see your currently tracked CCNs.
  3. To add new providers, enter one or more CCNs (separated by commas) and click Start Tracking.
  4. To stop receiving alerts for a facility, click the trash icon next to its CCN in the list.

[!NOTE] Each organization can track a maximum of 250 Provider CCNs to ensure performance and alert relevancy.

Alerts Feed

The Alerts Feed displays a chronological list of all detected changes for your tracked providers across both the Inpatient (IPSF) and Outpatient (OPSF) datasets.

Reading the Alerts Table

Each row in the Alerts Table provides critical context about the change: - CCN: The affected provider. - Table & Field: Indicates whether the change occurred in the IPSF or OPSF dataset, and specifically which field was updated (e.g., wage_index_location). - Old vs. New Value: Highlights the exact before-and-after values. - Effective Date: The CMS effective date associated with the changed record.

[!TIP] Clickable Rows: The alerts table is fully interactive! Click anywhere on an alert row to immediately open the full Provider Record Modal, automatically filtered to the exact Effective Date of that specific alert.

Marking Alerts as Seen

To help clear your workflow, new alerts are displayed with a bold highlight. - Individual: Click the Mark Seen button in the Actions column of a specific alert to clear it. - Bulk: Click the Mark All as Seen button at the top of the table to rapidly clear your unread badge.

[!IMPORTANT] To keep the system performant and the feed relevant, Provider Alerts are subject to a 6-month retention policy. Any alerts older than 6 months are automatically purged from the system. Be sure to export any historical data you require before it expires.

Exporting Alerts

If you need to perform external analyses or integrate alert histories into your reporting, use the Export CSV button above the alerts table to download your organization's entire alert history.
